Why is Mumbai Indians struggling in IPL 2022?

 Cricket is a ridiculous game and the game of uncertainty and we have seen this time and time.IPL 2022 is going on in full flow but there are more surprises in this edition.10 teams mean more matches, more entertainment, and more toughness also. But the huge surprise is the 5-time champions Mumbai Indians are yet to get off the mark in the points table after 5 matches. Another 4-time champion just got off the mark in the last game against RCB.So it means 9-time champions are at 9th and 10th position on the points table. Yes we all know that's a really long tournament and there is still plenty of time left for them to regain focus but at the same time cricket is the game of momentum and both sides are lacking it big time. Why are 5-time champions struggling?
Mumbai Indians are always on a slow starter side but this time the problems have become bigger. They were always the best side due to their combination and covered almost every basis and aspect of the game but this time there are some big voids to fill. 1st of all their bowling attack missed a spark the leader of the attack Jasprit Bumrah went wicketless in 3 games out of 5. In past years there were Boult, Malinga, and NCN there and covered everything but this time things are more different. The overseas picks have not been great Tymal Mills was great in the Hundreds but now he is struggling to get his rhythm back. Daniel Sams the big bash sensation also couldn't make a mark so far and he was completely destroyed by his fellow countryman Pat Cummins.
Lacking Finishers
There were 2 iconic finishers for Mumbai over the years and they won a lot of matches single-handedly for their team. Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard were brutal at the end of the innings but those days are gone. Mumbai spent 8 core INR on Tim David and gave him just 3 matches despite his good form in PSL. Pollard is also struggling to find the groove and find the boundary line also. It is fair enough to say that their strength has become their weakness. These 2 youngsters and Suryakumar Yadav made some runs in the middle order at a brisk rate but the rest of the lineup couldn't find a way to fight. Especially 2 most of the experienced and seasoned campaigners is not helping the side Rohit Sharma only hit 30  run mark just once in 5 games. Kieron Pollard also is doing the same thing at the strike rate of 121 in death overs. So we can say it is the experience that let them down this time and they are not firing as a team.

CSK finally got 1st win
Chennai Super Kings are 4-time champions of the IPL and defending champions also. But in this tournament, they haven't played like champions except for one game. CSK lost 4 out of 5 but finally, they won the last match against RCB. Ravindra Jadeja is the new captain of the franchise and now it can be a turning point for them. The main problem for them is their bowling attack they are missing badly Deepak Chahar with the new ball and they are lacking the quality in death overs also. Even Lewis chased down 45 in the last 3 overs against them for Lucknow. So injury concerns about Chahar are still there and it's not confirmed his comeback.
Ruturaj Gaikwad was the sensation in the last IPL and was the top scorer but this time he hasn't been fired yet. This has been a big problem at the top. They have only 2 inform players Robin Uthappa and Shivam Dube and good thing that they won the game for their team. But the rest of the batters are lacking that spark Dhoni made a mark earlier but after that their batting could not live up to the expectations. Against RCB they were also in trouble but Dube and Uthappa played exceptional innings to get a fine total on the board and put RCB's batting lineup under immense pressure. After that Mahesh Theekshana and Jadeja made life tough for them despite the dew and registered 1st victory.
