Psl has started in Abu Dhabi after all that difficulties and hard work but finally fun started in style and we are getting entertainment almost every day.
First we will talk about conditions in Abu Dhabi we know that there is always help for fast bowlers with the new ball but this is quite surprising that fast bowlers dominating the tournament so far in this heat and humidityThere is not easy conditions for fast bowlers but they getting help from the wicket some world class spinners joined the party like Rashid, Fawad and Shadab but over all it is not easy for spinners and dew has not there as expected.We have all seen that batting is not easy in powerplay but if you survive this period you can go berserk.
Let's talk about from Ist match it was between Qalandars and United and it was a low scoring thriller which went in United's favour story started right from here Shaheen and James Faulkner started in great style and it was looking like United done and dusted when they were 20/5 but credit goes to Asif Ali and experienced Iftikhar that was memorable come back from them and it came out of no where.That was great innings from Asif and his partner as well and they both needed that personely as well after getting dropped from national side.It was the innings of great calibur from Asif Ali under pressure and against quality bowlers and he went after Rashid Khan as well who was the hero against Peshawar Zalmi.After all that hard work Islamabad managed to score 152 which was a fighting total.Asif scored 75 and Iftikhar scored 49.
In the chase Lahore started really well especially in the powerplay they didn't lose a wicket against fast bowlers which was quite surprising but Fawad Ahmad got breakthrough in his 1st over but story was changed by Musa Khan Lahore was 76/2 after 8 overs and every one thought match is finished except Islamabad bowlers.After that big collapse came in way and Qalandars were 100/9 but Hari's Rauf showed his batting skills but it was never enough to get over the line and it was dominated by spin web of Fawad and Shadab but don't forget Musa Khan who picked big wickets of Hafeez, Dunk and Fakher.Qalandars always having the tag of unpredictable and they shown it once again.We have seen thrillers between these two sides in past from Elliot bat drop,Russell's power in super over,Musa Khan heroics with the bat and Rashid's finishing touch so there is always something interesting when these two came up against each other.
Zalmi Vs Sultans
There was another late night match between two good sides where Sultans bowl first after winning the toss and that's proven a good decision because their bowlers right on target especially Shahnawaz Dhani who got 4 wickets and got his first man of the match as well.I want to talk about Haider Ali we always say that he is very talented but his performance has not been upto the mark he is unable to find runs and find gaps also.The big question is why he is repeating those mistakes again and again this looks like a serious problem and he need to resolve it as early as possible for himself and his side.After that collapse Rutherford scored fifty to get something on the board and it was 166.It was looking a good total but not to be.
In the chase that was all about dominance of Sultan's batters especially Rizwan continues his good form he scored magnificent 82 from 56
and from the other end Sohaib Maqsood was ruthless as he scored 61 from just 31 and they chased down that target in just 16.2 overs which is surprise because every chasing side getting difficult to chase target but they did it some style.
So tournament continues and Sultans also going well and got the momentum at right time let's see how they go further.
