Let's start our 1st post of 2022 and we have a lot of things to talk about. We have witnessed the magnificent 2021 and what a start that was in Australia where India drew the Sydney Test and then won at Gabba in the 1st month of 2021.
Now it is the turn of another Asian side to give some shock to the cricket world we are talking about the Bangladesh tour of New Zealand where Bangladesh stunned New Zealand in the 1st test and started 2022 in some style. This is their 1st test victory against the top 5 five teams,1st win against New Zealand, and also 1st win in New Zealand in any format of the game.
New Zealand won the toss in batting-friendly conditions but Bangladesh was really tight and gave away just one run in 1st half an hour of the game.
Conway's come back
Bangladesh removed Latham early but after that Devon Conway made the way to the crease 1st time after T20 World Cup and played a sensational knock and scored a good 100 on his comeback. Conway and Will Young built a nice partnership but that ended with a run out of Young. Convey got out in the most bizarre fashion on 122 by strangling down the leg side of Mominul Haque and that opened the doors for the visitors.

On Day 2 Bangladesh restricted the home side on 328 which was looking a good total but not very threatening.
Bangladesh batters joined the party
Bangladesh's batting lineup was up against a really quality bowling line up which consists of Trent Bout, Tim Southee, Neil Wagner, and Kyle Jamieson but stood up really nicely. New opener Mahmudul Hassan Joy, Najmul Hussein, Mominul, and in form Liton Das scored the fifties to strengthen their position. Then little cameos from Yasir Ali and Mehdi Hassan made the sure significant lead. Bangladesh finished on 458 with the lead of 130. Liton Das was in form batter and he carried his form in this series also he scored a hundred and fifty in his last series against Pakistan but that was a great effort by a batting unit in those challenging conditions.After that home side start to feel the heat.
Match defining spell from Ebadot Hussain
New Zealand was under pressure from the start Taskin got Latham early and then Conway went cheaply but Ebadot Hussain bowled a match-turning spell in the last hour of Day 4. New Zealand was 136/2 and they lost 3 wickets without adding a single run and find themselves in huge trouble at 136/5 courtesy of some great lifeline and length and some reverse swing from Ebadot Hussain. At the end of Day 4 lead was just 17 runs and veteran Ross Taylor was on the crease and was carrying the hopes of New Zealand but it was just a matter of time.
Ebadot Hussain cleaned him up in just 2nd over of Day5 and Bangladesh started to smell a victory. New Zealand bundled out on just 169 and the target was just 40 runs. Ebadot Hussain got 6 wickets and Taskin Ahmad got 3 wickets. He came from Army then he joined volleyball but later he joined cricket and now helped his side to win the 1st ever test match in New Zealand.

Bangladesh seal the deal
Target was just 40 runs which was a cakewalk but New Zealand fast bowlers tried their best and got 2 wickets also but Bangladesh registered their 1st win in New Zealand in the toughest format of the game with 8 wickets and stunned the World Champions and cricket world also. So this is some start of 2022 with riveting test cricket and the eye-opener for New Zealand and I think it will really hurt them because they have yet to win a match in this WTC. A couple of days back forget about the win nobody was even thinking that they can compete against them but cricket has its own path and Bangladesh was having its own game plan and strategy to give some shock to the world cricket.
On the other side after that huge defeat against Pakistan in their own backyard Bangladesh got things right at the start of the series and got an unassailable lead of 1-0 in 2 match series. This will be a confidence booster for them and they will be more confident in the upcoming days.
