This Asia cup was initially scheduled in Sri Lanka but due to the crisis, Sri Lanka informed ACC that they were in no position to organize this tournament. After that, it moved to UAE now. Dubai and Sharjah will host the Asia Cup 2022.

Winner of the Asia Cup 2022
Sri Lanka has crowned the title in 2022 by beating the favourites in the final Pakistan. Everyone wrote them off and no one was talking about them. But Maheesh Theekshana said you don't need match winners when you have eleven brothers on the field. It was great a great example of consistency, determination and resilience. They were down and out in the final when they were 58/5. But then Rajapaksa and Hasaranga joined the party and put up the fighting total on the board of 170.
It was a really competitive total for the final and then Hasaranga joined the party with the ball. Madhushan cracked the Pakistan lineup earlier and Hasaranga finished the story in the 17th over with 3 wickets. Sri Lanka richly deserved that and they did it.
