The 2 best Asian sides will start their campaign on 24th October in an all-important game. People say this is always a pressure game between these 2 sides because their media and their fans create so much hype about this, they don't play bilateral series so these types of matches are special. Cricket is a very ruthless and cruel game and in this format, even more, I think stats don't matter but too much in this format of the game because it's all about winning the moments and some time just a single player can win the match for you on his day. But still, we have to watch those stats.

1st time in the 2007 World Cup these 2 sides came up against each other the group match was tied and then India won it later by bowling out and then in a famous final India and MS Dhoni finished the game and India won the inaugural T20 tournament.
But Pakistan didn't wait too much to lift the trophy and they won it in 2009 against Sri Lanka.
2nd time they played in 2012 World Cup and India won it comprehensively.
3rd time in 2014 World Cup once again India succeeded against Pakistan without any hesitation.

India
India has covered all the basic things and they have had a great experience there in IPL in the last 2 years and this is a golden opportunity for them to win this time. With Rohit and Rahul at the top then Virat, Pant and Pandya will be aggressors for them and this will the last tournament for Virat as captain so they are a hot favorite.
Pakistan
Pakistan is really unpredictable side but this format suits them a lot and they have all the experience on these pitches and grounds.1st time in 2016 Pakistan was eliminated in 1st round but before that Pakistan played at least semi-final in all tournaments. Now they are having a really good chance to lift the trophy once again in their own backyard we can say.
England
Mighty England has completely changed the trend of cricket with their attacking approach they play cricket in their own way and they have gotten success also. They played the final in 2016 and they were favorite until the last over where Brathwaite became a champion. But they are playing really good white-ball cricket and having all the resources to get another one in their bag.
South Africa
1st 3 teams are favorites for everyone but the selection of the 4th team is a little bit tough because there are a couple of good sides but they are not playing consistently good cricket. West Indies is the defending champions but now their cricket against spin has been awful we have seen their batting in their home grounds where they struggled big time and now practice matches they exposed badly against quality spinners. Yes, they are big six hitters but somewhere you have to rotate the strike at least to find some momentum. The 2nd thing is they don't have quality spinners now in 2012 and 2016 they were having Samuel Badree and Sunil Naraine in their armory but now they don't have and their fast bowling is also not the best attack I have to say so it can be shaky for them and I will be surprised if they march towards the semi-finals.

South Africa has been one of the most consistent sides in this format of the game in the last one year or so they played brilliant cricket against Pakistan without their key players in home series yes they lost it but showed great fight and then they won the series against West Indies in West Indies which was a huge success after that they have beaten Sri Lanka also in near past.
So they are having some good players of spin like Markram, Vd der Dussan and De Kock also and they have some good spinners like Tabraiz Shamsi and Maharaj after that they have best fast bowlers in the world with raw pace and utmost accuracy so to me they have all basics covered and will be in top 4.
