Sarfaraz, the erstwhile captain of the Pakistan cricket team, retorted, asserting, "You won't be of any use to me. To begin with, I never instructed you to do anything. I never requested that you make a swap. I swapped with the person I intended to." This clash was not an isolated incident, as the duo drew attention during an intra-squad practice match before they departed for Australia. Notably, Sarfaraz invoked a timed-out dismissal against Shakeel, sparking a chaotic sprint to the pitch by the latter, who couldn't even don his gloves in time. Despite the commotion, the umpire adjudicated Shakeel as not out, defusing the appeal and averting the timed-out dismissal. Looking forward, Pakistan is geared up to face Australia in the Test series, harbouring aspirations to conquer the formidable opponents on their home turf. Commencing at the Optus Stadium in Perth, the series is an integral part of the World Test Championship. While historical records may not favour Pakistan in red-ball encounters against Australia, the team is eager to rebound after a lacklustre performance in the recently concluded ODI World Cup 2023, where they faltered to progress beyond the group stage.
