World Cup 2015 England lost the match by 15 runs against Bangladesh and was eliminated from the race of the World Cup. That was truly shocking for the English team and English fans. But soon after they changed the basic core of the team and started to build a team that was brutal and lethal.
It was a mental change more often and Travis Bayliss and English Players didn't take much time to adopt. Eoin Morgan took the charge as captain and start to thrash other teams. In that journey, they breached the 450 mark a couple of times. Joe Root was the only moderator in the whole batting line up and the rest of the lineup took charge and played in just one way.

England lost Ashes by 4-0 and then drew the series against West Indies. After that England made a massive change and appointed Brandon Maccallum as their head coach. Another change was the captain Joe Root left the captaincy and Benjamin Andrew Stokes took the charge as red ball captain.

It was always on the cards that this combo of Baz and Ben will do something special and they did it very 1st series against World Champions New Zealand. They lost last time exactly a year ago by 1-0 but the whole story has changed.

That was the start of a new era in English cricket and it started right from the 1st test. England started a series with something special and their old campaigner James Anderson put his hand up for one more time. In 1st test, New Zealand was 27/5 and got all out on just 132.
But the bowling lineup didn't allow the home team to go too far and they bundled them out on 141. Then Daryl Mitchell and Tom Blundell took the charge in 2nd Innings and played some great cricket. Daryl Mitchell scored 108 but Blundell fell in the 90s and got pinned in front of the stumps on 96.
Target was 279 which was quite fighting but Joe Root and company chased it down without much hustle. England was 69/4 right after Joe Root and Ben Stokes put on a great partnership but Stokes got out at 54 and the English side is still 120 runs short. Joe Root and Ben Foakes made sure that England won't lose further and chased down the target with ease and 5 wickets to spare to go 1-0 in the series.

You often see that if both teams scored over 500 runs and you get the result of a test match but it happened in Trent Bridge, Nottingham. England required 299 runs on the final day in about 70 overs. At one point England was 93/4 including their run machine Joe Root also. England could have easily gone for a draw but the new setup didn't allow them to do that. Jonny Bairstow and Captain Stokes took the charge and started to play T20 in a test match. In the final session, England required 160 runs in 30 overs but they did it in just 16 overs and that should sum up their brutal and lethal approach. They scored 108 runs in 54 balls after tea. Bairstow scored 136 in just 92 balls with a strike rate of 147.8 and Stokes finished the job with 75 not out on just 70 balls and helped his side to go 2-0 up in 3 match series.

That was just a huge shock the way these two charged against the best test team in the world and probably against one of the finest bowling attacks.
Bairstow stood tall one more time
In the final test, New Zealand put 329 in 1st innings with the help of the fine 109 by Daryl Mitchell. He is the 1st ever New Zealand batter to 100 in 3 consecutive matches against England. He has broken the record of the most runs in 3 match series against England.
In reply England reduced on 56/6 but once Again Jonny Bairstow came in the way. He and Jamie Overton got together and stitched one memorable partnership. The partnership was 240 runs, putting England well and truly in a commanding position. Overton missed a well-deserved hundred by just 3 runs but Bairstow was going really nicely. He scored his 3rd 150-plus score and got out on 162 from 157 balls. A cameo from Stuart Broad helped England to get the lead of 31 runs.
New Zealand scored 326 runs in the 2nd innings and set the target of 296.
Jake Leach got 10fer in the test and it equally poised for the final day.
England complete the 3-0 series whitewash! Needing 113 runs, the start of the final day was delayed due to rain and early lunch was taken. On resumption, England lost Ollie Pope in the very first over. Just when we thought that there could be some contest, in walked Jonny Bairstow and extinguished any hopes of a New Zealand fightback. He notched up a 30-ball fifty and England wrapped up the game in just over an hour of play today. Day five -- 15.2 overs | 113 runs | 1 wicket. just Wow!
Earlier Southee castled Pope on 82 but two form batters Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root comfortably took the team home without much trouble and finally New Zealand bowlers can take some rest after that hammering on test series by English batters. That was just awesome to watch this approach from the home side. So England dominated it by 3-0 and their next match will be against India another mouth-watering contest awaits us.
Another huge news is coming that The World Cup Winner captain Eoin Morgan will announce his retirement tomorrow. Moeen Ali and Ben Stokes are in the line for the next leader of England Cricket in white ball. Eoin Morgan was the man who lead the side to the victory and changed the whole model of English cricket.
