After that celebration began in the whole country because this is the highest achievement in the cricket journey of Bangladesh and they deserve all the celebrations. Bangladesh won the 1st ever away series against a top-ranked team before this they only won against Zimbabwe, Kenya, and Ireland in the away series and it took 24 years for them.
Let's talk about their built up
In the 1999 World Cup Bangladesh defeated hot favorite Pakistan and surprised the cricket world with that they gained the status of a full member of ICC. In the 2007 cricket, World Cup Bangladesh defeated hot favorite India, and once again they gave a big shock to the world. In the 2015 World Cup Bangladesh got their 1st win in SENA countries against top ranked team by defeating England. In that match, Mahmoodullah scored a hundred and their pacers put their hands up and destroyed the English batting lineup. Rubel Hussain got 4 wickets and that win helped Bangladesh to play the quarter-finals and with that defeat, England was eliminated in the 1st round.
Tigers became a force at home
After the 2015 win against England Bangladesh gained a lot of confidence and became a real force at their home ground. They defeated Pakistan, India, South Africa, and England in bilateral series at their home grounds. In the recent past, Bangladesh defeated Australia by 4-1 in the T20 series and won against New Zealand also. But it was all about their spinners who dominated big time and helped their side to reach the glory. At that time Bangladesh was never confident in their pacers and it was rightly so because the most of time there was just Masharfe Murtaza who was the spare head of the pacers but except him, they could never find the others to help him around. But when Mustafiz got his debut cap against India and demolished the best batting lineup twice in 2 odis then the story got another turn he got 11 wickets in 1st 2 games and that sealed the series for the home side.
When Bangladesh started to believe in pacers
In BPL they found some bowlers who were able to bowl in 140kphs and somehow they started to groom them Taskin Ahmad and Ebadot Hussain are two of them. We all know that pace is also important at bouncy and seaming tracks as well as skills also and finally, Bangladesh realized that thing. Ebadot Hussain has written history in New Zealand by winning the test match in the toughest conditions. Bangladesh became the only Asian side to win the test match in New Zealand in the last 5 years.
Now Taskin Ahmad took the charge in this series. He took 3/36 in the 1st ODI and helped his side to achieve the 1st victory in South Africa then in the 2nd ODI, it was all about Rabada who demolished the batting lineup of Bangladesh single-handedly.
Story of a series decider
After the win in 1st ODI, Mahedi Hassan said that we are dreaming big and he was rightly so. In the series decider, nothing went right for hosts except toss, South Africa won the toss and their openers gave them a good start they lost their 1st wicket on 46, and then it was all about Taskin Ahmad who ran through the middle order of South Africa with his pace, accuracy, some variable bounce and some shambolic shot selection also helped Bangladesh. South Africa was 126/8 but a little cameo from Maharaj helped his side to get 154 on the board. Taskin got 5/35 and wrote the script of a new achievement in the history of Bangladesh.

Now things have been much better for Bangladesh in ODI super league as they are sitting right on the top and are worse for their opposition because they slipped to 9th position. So Bangladesh is going pretty smoothly and can be a real power in ODI World which will be in India. So I think it's too early to say but Bangladesh can dream big.
