Test cricket is going in full flow at the moment before the all important T20 World Cup there are just 2 series are going around 1st Pakistan Vs West Indies and 2nd India Vs England both series are having some ups and downs but are full of entertainment.
2nd and the last test between Pakistan and West Indies has started and Pakistan has to win this to save the series and to open the account in WTC.
In 2 test West Indies won the toss and elected to bowl 1st in bowling friendly conditions Pakistani openers were already under threat and short of runs and that situation added more problems for them.
Pakistan's top order has been awful in this series so far if we take out runs against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka then both openers has been just poor including Azhar Ali also Pakistan needs to think seriously about this problem.Azhar Ali scored his last 100 against England in England when he was a captain but after that his performance hasn't been upto the mark.He is the permanent member of the side from last 10 years or so but but still he has some technical problems.
After losing the toss that was a just horrible start for Pakistan and they were 2/3 at one moment but after that Captain Babar Azam and zFawad Alam started their work in their own typical style and built a nice partnership over 150.With this partnership Pakistan came back in the game.Babar scored magnificent 75 and Kemar Roach got his wicket.Fawad Alam got cramps in his leg and went out of the field.After that Rizwan and Faheem also built a nice partnership and Pakistan was 212/4 after that horrible start.
Day 2 was completely washed out due to rain and that has been story of this tour so far and that is just ridiculous.On Day 3 game couldn't start at time due to wet outfield.But things started after lunch and Pakistan lost 3 quick wickets after that Fawad Alam came back in and scored magnificent 124 to get Pakistan in commanding position.That has been some come back by Fawad Alam he has been just phenominal and a big slap on face of the previous selectors.He stood tall when the team needed him the most he scored 100 against South Africa when team was in trouble,scored 100 in New Zealand and now on a tough batting surface and challenging conditions he got his team in a very good position.This has been the story of Pakistan's cricket alot of players has missed out due to hate of some authorative persons.
Let's come back to the game Pakistan finished on 302/9 and declared the innings.
West Indies started their batting and Pakistan's new ball specialist Shaheen Afridi didn't disappoint he got both openers and then Faheem got Chase to make things worse for home side.At the end of the day West Indies was 39/3 result can be possible if there is no rain.
Shaheen Afridi got rid of early from night watchman Alzarri Joseph,after that Blackwood and Bonner built a nice partnership over 60 runs but then Abbass made a comeback and got 2 in 2 balls including 3rd duck of the series for Kyle Mayers.After that Pakistan bowlers were all over West Indies and home side was all out on just 150.Shaheen was the star of the show he got 6 wickets and Abbass got 3.
Pakistan came with some intent and they scored 50 in just 6 overs West Indies bowlers were doing their job but Pakistani batsmen were on a mission and they got 175 runs in just 27 overs.Pakistan declared the innings at 176/6.
West Indies started well in the last innings but a direct hit from Afridi did the job for Kieron Powell.West Indies still needs 280 runs with 9 wickets in hand and we are all set for another thrilling finish in test cricket if there is no rain.So hope for the best.
Day 5
Last day of the match started with the domination of Pakistan when Shaheen got Joseph early in the day and then Hassan got Bonner and Chase to make things worse for home side after that Pakistan was right on top Brathwaite,Blackwood and Holder showed some resistance but that wasn't enough to save the match.As per expected on Day 5 Nauman Ali also joined the party with 3 wickets and Shaheen got 4 wickets in the innings and 10 wickets in the match.He was the man of the match and man of the series also.
That win showed the real character of the team the way the played in the whole series was just awesome yes the result hasn't gone in their way in 1st test but overall they played better cricket than opposition.Especially in 2nd test when they were 2/3 then they made a ominous come back to win the match.
