Cricket news are really hot and we have a lot to talk about because finally cricket is back to his best and couple of series are going around and this is wonderful to watch because we all love this sport.But we will talk about 2 series in this post
First of all we will talk about
South Africa Vs Ireland series
1st ODI of this series was abonded due to rain but 2nd ODI's result surprised everyone because Ireland has beaten South Africa by 43 runs in this match and what a great cricket they have played.
Ireland batted first and they started in some fashion against two best bowlers in the world Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje almost their every batsman contributed but their Captain Andrew Balbrine was just superb with his stunning hundred and that finish from Harry Tector and George Dockrell was awesome.They were up againt two best bowlers in the world and they both smashed them all around the park to get 290 on the board which was very good total on any surface.
In the chase Visitors couldn't start well because Markram and Bavuma went early but after that Janneman Malan and their key batsman Rassie Van der Dussan stitched a good partnership to get South Africa back in the game.But they both got out in consecutive overs and their team was in deep trouble after that it was all about Ireland and they didn't allow South Africa to come back and thrashed them.
Ireland is playing some serious cricket from last 2 to 3 years because they are having young and energetic players which are performing well and playing sensible cricket I should say.They are beating bigger sides every now and then and they deserve more series against big teams to make themselves better side.
At the other side South Africa lost last ODI series against Pakistan in home conditions and now they lost a match against Ireland they are very good side but they are lacking consistency in their performance we all know they are having a very good bowling attack and some talented batsmen to compete and they have new captain Temba Bavuma and their entire system has changed so they need some time to settle.
Pakistan Vs England
Disappointing series has just finished for Pakistan almost thrashed by England's B side that's a huge loss for Pakistan and it will take some time to get out of it.In the last they batter cricket as compare to previous 2 matches but still not enough to beat England and save themselves from clean sweep.
In last ODI England won the toss and elected to bowl 1st and once again Saqib Mahmood was right on target and he got Fakher Zaman early and Pakistan scored just 35 runs in the powerplay on the pitch which was like a road there was no swing and seam at all in the whole match.After that they did well Imam got fifty before getting bowled by ripping beauty from Parkinson.
After that there was true batting masterclass from Pakistan's captain Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan.Rizwan was the man who gave momentum to his side soon after Babar joined the party and got his career best 158 which was just awesome inning. That was just the stamp of authority from no. 1 batsman of ODI.
Rizwan also played brilliant hands of 74 from just 58 balls and for England Carse got his 1st fifer but Pakistan posted a huge total of 331 which wasn't enough at the end.I think momentum was shifted towards England at the back end.
In the chase Pakistan started well with Hassan Ali got Malan on duck but that there was counter punch by Phill Salt and Zak Crawley in their typical style and England finished powerplay at 84/2 which was a big difference as compare to Pakistan's 35/1.
This kind of cricket they are playing with no fear after Ben Stokes's wicket everyone thought that Pakistan is back but that was the matter of the time.
They were 151/4 after 20 overs then Imam ul Haq dropped Gregory on 4 and after that there was a huge partnership between Gregory and James Vince and got England back on driving seat.Vince got his 1st hundred and Gregory got match defining 78 runs.After that Overton and Carse finished things off for England to get their side over the line Haris Rauf picked his career best 4 wickets.
This is really a huge defeat and it will take some time to heal that wounds in last 2 matches their batting was poor and in this batting was good but bowling and fielding was just poor they were bowling short to both sides of the wicket and English batsmen smashed them all around.There was no competition at all from Pakistan yes they played well in some parts but not in the whole game there was a big difference in mind set and in skill level of both teams.Pakistan's entire system has to think again because it is a team game and one man can't win match for you they have to change their mind set and style of play.
