So first test between England and New Zealand has finished there.That was the first test of English Summer and we have seen everything in it some good batting great bowling and most famous thing rain as well which had a big impact on the game.Because if it didn't happen then result could have been different and can be against home side so rain effected the whole result.
Over all that was a good match first we saw the breathtaking innings from Devon Conway who has scored highest score on debut at Lords and New Zealand managed to score 378.
In reply England couldn't start well but Joe Root and Burns made a good partnership and then rain came in next day.
On Day 4 skipper Joe Root got out on first delivery of the day from Kyle Jameison and that was a hell of delivery after that collapse came in and at one moment England was 140/6 but Rory Burns hold one end and scored a magnificent hundred that was a great innings under pressure because at one moment it was looking like England will be follow on but this man deserves all credit for his gritty knock.
After that England finished on respectful score of 275.Southee bowled brilliantly and got 6 wickets.
In New Zealand's 2nd innings they started well but Ollie Robinson bowled with great heart and got Conway early after that he also got big fish Kane Williamson on just 1 from 20 balls.
On Day 5 New Zealand started with aggressive cricket wickets were falling but they kept run rate up but once again rain came in just before lunch and Visitor side declared their innings while they were having the lead of 273.
Rain stopped and English openers started well in the chase they were having almost 72 overs to chase down the target.But they never look to chase it especially after those 2 wickets they went for a safe way and match was drawn.We were expecting that at some moment England will show the intent but that was not the case and I think they could have done better than this.Now the question is this has they played a good brand of cricket because from the ball one they wanted to draw this they were never looking to chase this.They are playing very good white ball cricket but that was little bit under par.They should have done better.
Cricket is a very funny game we have seen in the near past Rishabh Pant chased down the target in Australia against Australia and Windies chased down a huge target against Bangladesh in their home ground when Kyle Mayers got double hundred.England is not playing very good test cricket in last 1 to 2 years they are having a lot of ups and downs in that period and they are not looking confident in their selection as well they are giving opportunities to almost every person but they are not finding the right combination especially in away series.
Ashes is not far away and it will be in Australia so they have to found a decent player for every position.Let's see how they go.
Another big news is Ollie Robinson has suspended from International cricket for his racial tweets back in 2012,13.So he will not be the part of 2nd test as he returned to his county.This is a big call after that incident in America cricket has also affected from this which is not a good thing at all the cricket world need to think about this seriously.
